Living
The living area consists of a full kitchen, dining and lounge area. Enjoy Manuka bush views from every corner. During the day the sun will stream in from the skylights and at night you can enjoy the night sky from the luxury of your lazy chair in the lounge. A cozy woodburing fire place will keep the cottage nice and warm. Full width deck across the living area will provide a seamless indoor/outdoor flow.
Just a 50 m walk through the bush from the cottage is a clearing where you can sit and watch the sun go down over Mt Ruapehu.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a fully tiled spacious walk in shower and two side by side freestanding baths. The baths are positioned so you can look out into the bush in total privacy. Double vanities are provided should two couples travel together , each couple can have their own space.
Luxury bathrobes are also provided.There is a separate laundry facility with washing machine , dryer and washing powder is provided. The toilet is separate from the bathroom.
Zero waste naturally
We encourage you to join us on our Zero waste journey. It is very unlikely that you will find any single use plastic items in the cottage. Please help us to recycle your cardboard, paper, cans, plastics and glass using the bins provided. Food scraps will go in the compost bin. We even provide you with re-usable shopping bags and produce bags for your grocery shop.
All our cleaning materials and bathroom amenities are made from 100% natural ingredients, made in NZ and preferably handmade. This includes the shampoo, soap, dish wash detergent and washing powder.
We collect our own water and all waste water is processed on site.
100% Smoke free
The cottage is located in native NZ bush that has been protected by the Environment Court. It is therefore essential we have a no smoking ban on the entire block of land. Should you wish to smoke this can only take place on the roadside car park. We trust that you understand the fire risk involved with smoking.
